Lucy Davis From the Pool to HYROX and Ultramarathons

Lucy Davis

Lucy Davis has taken her competitive swimming background a long way beyond the pool. She’s raced HYROX in under an hour, competed at the World Championships and completed a 106.9-mile ultramarathon. Strength and endurance both have a place in her training, and she shares that approach to encourage more women to take on challenges of their own.

An engine built in the pool

Long before HYROX, Lucy’s training revolved around swimming. That early competitive background gave her years of experience with regular training and demanding sessions. She later brought that commitment into the gym, combining lifting with running rather than choosing just one discipline.

Her training now spans strength work, long runs and HYROX preparation. The mix is central to how she approaches being a hybrid athlete: getting stronger while continuing to build endurance.

Taking it to the race floor

Lucy recorded 59:03 in Women’s Open at Manchester in 2024, then ran 58:32 at the 2025 North American Championships in Washington, D.C. She’s also raced alongside her sister Megan, with the pair finishing Manchester’s Women’s Doubles in 57:47 in 2025.

At the 2025 HYROX World Championships in Chicago, Lucy finished the Women’s Pro race in 1:05:30, placing ninth in the 25–29 age group. Her race history spans solo racing, doubles and relay events.

Beyond HYROX

In 2025, Lucy completed 106.9 miles in a backyard ultramarathon, running another loop every hour. She then went on to race at HYROX Worlds a few weeks later.

In her WHOOP interview, she described learning to treat recovery as part of training and recognising when to take time off. Alongside her own racing, she uses her platforms to encourage women to build strength, enjoy sport and explore what they can achieve.
